Canon 7d Mark ll and my 70-200mm 2.8 Lens

I am by no means any sort of Camera Reviewing expert as I've owned only three different types of cameras and a few different types of lenses. I can however tell my experience with the camera's I've had since I started photography in case it may help someone decide what camera to start with or what camera to upgrade to. First things first - I've been told numerous times that when choosing between a new lens and a new camera - pick the better glass, the rest can be upgraded later and better glassis more likely to improve quality drastically. If you are looking for better camera setting capabilities however, such as better ISO capability, then a new body might be the better way to go.
I started out snapping at horse competitions with a tiny point and shoot camera of which the brand name escapes me. This was so long ago I couldn't find an Image to show how terrible the quality was even if I wanted to. My parents afforded me a very preliminary type Nikon Camera at age 13/14 and despite the quality of the images not being that fantastic, it did enable me to start to grasp how the settings worked, how to capture the fast action shots and how to start editing them. At age 16 when I started to take it a bit more seriously, I sold the Nikon and acquired my 1200d Canon in a package deal that came with 18-55mm and 70-300m lenses. From here my photography really began to blossom, the quality was such that I could start selling my horse competition photographs and really start to learn how to get the best out of my camera, no matter the capabilities. late 2016 I bought myself a 50mm Portrait lens for studio work and started borrowing my moms canon flash for the odd event here and there.
I photographed and learnt tons from this camera for a good 4 years and definitely recommend something like this for amateur photographers looking to slowly move their way into a photography business. Do keep in mind that adequate editing is also good to self-teach although try your best to photograph as correctly as possible. After deciding to have my knee surgery this year and therefore making the tough decision to sell my beloved horse, as I wouldn't be able to ride him for ages and time constraints were an issue as is, and invest that money into the future of my photography business. Along with a bit of financial help from my parents I acquired my 7d Mark ll and 70-200mm 2.8 after much deliberation with many of my photographer friends and lecturers.
I've had this body and lens now for about two-three months and it has taken my photography to a whole new level. Despite massive increases in my ISO capabilities and overall picture quality, the low F-stop on my lens makes photographing at horse competitions on a cloudy day, or at a performance such as at the Cape Town Comedy Club so much easier and less damaging on the photograph in post production. After much stressing over making sure I purchased the right equipment to take my business to a more proffessional level, I am incredibly happy with the choices I made and cannot wait to see just how much my photography business advances with my new equipment and my new skills learnt this year at College.
